Tartaruga
The most tropical of all

Amid lush vegetation, one finds a late afternoon paradise. The sea is calm and warm, and at the right end of the beach there are beautiful multicoloured rocks flanked by untouched forest.

All schooner trips make a stop here, and Happy Hour amid beautiful scenery, is a real fun experience.

Divers are attracted by the lovely coral formations.

History

It is named "Turtle Beach" because it provided nesting grounds for a variety of turtles, including the ‘’Tartaruga de Pente’’, and ‘’Tartaruga Marinha’’, amongst others.

How to Get There

Located between the Praias de Manguinhos and Virgens. From the centre turn right 500 mts. after the Esso service station, and follow the unpaved road for 2 Km.

General Information

At the left end of the beach, there is a footpath through the bush vegetation leading to Ponta da Sapata. Ideal for children. Well worth a visit.
