Tucuns
The doorway to the Atlantic...
A beach open to the sea, with large waves,
white sands and dunes. At both ends there
are rocky headlands with conditions ideal
for surfing. The beach is noted for its unspoilt,
undeveloped natural environment, so that privacy
is always available.
History
Named after a type of palm tree, which was
commonly found along the coast. The tree was
named "Tucum" by the local Tupi
indians. The tree has large leaves, and strong
fibres which were used to make ropes, hammocks
and fishing nets.
How to Get There
On the Búzios-Cabo Frio road, turn
left after 1.5 Kms. And continue straight
ahead to the beach.
